PERU-JAPAN: Fujimori comeback endorsed `back at home'
Interference in the domestic affairs of a Latin American country is not a set phrase that one would readily associate with Japan, yet that is just what the Peruvian government is protesting about to Tokyo. The motive: a public endorsement by a leading Japanese politician of a reelection bid by fugitive former President Alberto Fujimori.
